Trivia (Who Fax)
- This story was done "off contract" for the regulars, and so special permission was needed from each actor to appear in the episode.
- Jeffrey Coburn initially declined to appear, but changed his mind when he was told it was for the charity Children in Need.
- This story was part of a collaboration between a number of fan productions. Each production company would make their own charity episode for the Children in Need event, then release their episode on the same day and provide a link to the other productions for maximum exposure. Not every production provided this link, however.
- About four productions took part in this event, though some others also expressed interest.
- The Call of Pudsey is the longest of the episodes produced for the event.
- The Sontaran, played by Greg Marshal, was so well received that it was decided to make a full Sontaran story, and thus The Sontaran Trap (176) was born.
- This is the only story where a cliffhanger was not the actual end of the episode.
- The original intent was that the episode was to be 10 minutes long, but writer Thomas Himinez stated that he was unable to give the Master proper motivation in so short a time. By the end, even [Thomas] Himinez was surprised at the length.
